Project Details

This two-bedroom guest house was conceived as a playful yet refined architectural statement, designed by Chris DiSunno for a longtime client looking to expand her property in East Hampton. Situated on a previously undeveloped lot adjacent to her primary residence, the structure strikes a balance between cottage charm and bespoke sophistication.

Drawing from a tapestry of architectural influences, the design blends shingle-style elements with expressive rooflines, circular motifs, and handcrafted details that lend the home its unique identity. A deep, curved porch invites lingering summer evenings, while the lush gardens and stone pathways frame the house in natural elegance. Inside, exposed timber trusses, warm plaster finishes, and tailored millwork echo the artisanal approach throughout. The spacious kitchen and cozy living room are both designed with entertaining and relaxation in mind, while private sleeping quarters offer serene garden views and soft, inviting finishes.

This project was brought to life in collaboration with builder Robert Biondo, whose craftsmanship was essential in realizing the home’s intricate detailing and custom features. The result is a guest cottage that feels both rooted in place and refreshingly original
